The first time I saw a license plate sigh was at a Farmer's Market in Prosser, Washington when I was shopping with my friend, Jan. We were intrigued with the idea and I gathered some old license plates, cut them, and made my first sign: MAC'S PUB. Since then, I have added to my plates through eBay purchases, friends who get new plates, and digging through the bins at salvage yards. The ideas are endless and it's fun to make personalized signs for kids rooms, graduation presents, anniversaries, etc. Donating signs for various charities, such as Make-a-Wish, Condon Scholarship Foundation, Ione Education Foundation, Heppner Booster Club and Heppner Elementary Reading Program, are the most rewarding, for sure! I have never been able to come up with a name for my "business" but something will come to me, probably in the middle of the night!
